Two years ago, I made some pictures published in the blog post Authom reflections.
A couple of weeks ago I went back, trying to take advantage of the low sun. Alas I miscalculated the angle of the sun. When I arrived it was gone.

This totally different picture is made about 200 meters away from the spot. Not what I was looking for, but I think I can live with this.

Colors and contrast are slightly altered, but not much.

Tripod - Metal Hammer Norway

I had a promoshot with Tripod a few months ago.

I'm pleased with the result in Metal Hammer Norway, and so is the band. They looks tougher than real life, giving a lot of credibility in the right circles. And thats what rock promo pictures is all about, credibility.
Sorry. Almost forgot to say; their new album Four Coins will be available soon, good luck Tripod.

A long time ago, I and spanish gal named Araceli Tzigane made a website mainly about world, folk and ethnic music. The idea was something wikilike, a collective site of information about alternative music around the globe.
I'm proud to say that this was back in 2000 (maybe it started even a bit earlyer), long before anybody had heard about wikipedia and such.

What stopped us was probably that we didn't have the programing skills required to make our own content managing system.

The original ethnobass.org domain is now occupied by domainhosters :-(
Shame on them.

But this summer I met Araceli and her husband at Førdefestivalen 2011 :-)
She told me that most of the site still is online mirrored at her website mundimapa.com.

Suddenly she and her chair was there, at the front row. I have no idea how she made it there, in this steaming crowd, but she sure had a lot of guts.

Theme for this years Førdefestival was Womens World.
My interpretation is that the festival simply wanted to focus on the many strong female artists around the globe. If that's the goal, then they indeed succeeded.

Førde Folk Music Festival is off course folk music, a lot of folk music. But it's also mingling and shopping.

Let me first introduce you to Arne Fredriksen, founder and manager of Etnisk Musikklubb a on line CD club, a festival store, and a pretty interesting CD label.
He has been there every year I've been at the festival, and he probably will next year too.

Me and my photo buddy had a night out in a primitive tent not long ago. The plan was to photograph some cranes.

The birds never showed up (at least not within photo range) but a deer with child came along. The mother came pretty close to the tent. After a while she spotted us, and run of. The child was left alone, and hid in the grass for a while.

I've had a pretty tough debate with myself about showing or not showing this last crop.
It is not a pretty sight, the aggressive flies and the ticks at her. But it's nature.

Der vil jeg bla. få anledning til å fotografere nydelige Oumou Sangare fra Mali, som jeg allerede har et nært musikalsk forhold til, den frodige makedonske sigøynerdronninga Esma Redzepova, samt den peruianske barfotdivaen Susana Baca,

og dette er bare en bitteliten del av det jeg skal få oppleve i løpet av fire hektiske dager.

Time for a brief intermission from my concert shots.

I need some practise on product photo. So I gave myself a task. Shooting a shiny object. I wanted good controlled high ligh. The nearest suiting object was my watch.

It was harder than I had imagined. First try was a major fail. Next try turned out OK, but I feel I'm not really there yet. I'd really appreciate some feedback on this. Would you buy this used watch?

This night the light was low but harsh, and the set was way to overcrowded to get good angles.
So I probably shouldn't show these. May be bad for my reputation as a photographer.

But what the heck, that's Rock & Roll,
and it sure was a good gig :-)

Gymmen is a mighty fine little stage, but the light was very harch. I think it's almost inevitable at a small stage as this.

I have a "thing" with old machinery left behind at odd places.

I don't know why, but I enjoy photographing them.

Most likely it is something about machine vs nature.
In long term it seem that nature always wins. Just like the good guys in the old movies.
