More Autumn reflections

Autumn refletions

It's white outside. Pretty.
But, when diving into my archive, this was what caught my attention.These pictures where hard to make, nature tends to be rather chaotic.
I honestlydon't know what to think about them. One moment I like them, the next not. What's your say? Feedback appreciated.

Had a bit of rendering fun with these. All done in Lightroom.

Under construction. An artist at work. Part two.

Back to work again :-) A lot has happened since we left the hall in part one. A lot of shifting back an forth, and then stacking the deck of 24 pictures over and over again.

While I did the finale fine tuning of the spot lights, Tommy did some of his final magic to make the pictures. In one picture he added a new line to the composition, in another he repaired a scratch or two. He may have done a lot more that I missed from my focal point at the top of a wobbly ladder.

Another important thing is to polish them and add some stuff called Varnish. Varnish is a protective film used to finish a painting before the vernissage.

Kind of Blue

I've had an idea for a project for quite a long time. Simply to make some pictures inspired by Miles Davis titles.
This is the first attempt to make it real. Kind of Blue was where Miles started. Ok, that's a lie. But it's almost true :-) It was MY first Miles album.

The photo is a lie to. This is not the scene as I saw it while driving threw the landscape.  The original file was a disapontment, looking dull and flat. While playing with it, looking for a solution to make the light in the end of the tunnel shine, I came up with this.

And suddenly I was humming to the melody All Blues from Kind of Blue. I said to myself:
That's it, the first picture of this series.
But I'm not 100% sure. It's not my usual style to render a picture this heavily. Have I taken it over the top?

EDIT: After Godfreys comment below, I decided to make a slightly different rendering. Tuned down the magenta a squash (or whatever the word is), and lightened and sharpened the foreground a tad (my spell checker suggests toad, instead of tad. That, I know is a bad idea :-) )

Hangin out, looking cool

I'm mainly a bird and nature photographer, but the last month I've been busy posting event shots.

So now I think it is time to post a picture of some Grey Herons hanging out.
Alas my photo companions cell phone scared them away a few seconds later, so this one shot was all I got.
